A great 3 days exploring castles, ancient ruins, and hearing tales of Pictish warriors, witchcraft, sorcery and the amazing standing stone circle.

Learn about the real "Robinson Crusoe", beautiful Loch Lomond, and some fantastic coastline, mountains and glens. This is Scotland at its best, and will leave you begging for more!!

Leaving Edinburgh, we head up into the Kingdom of Fife over the Forth Road Bridge, and start to make our way along the East coastline. We'll stop for some breathtaking walks along the coast to visit old ruins and hear of how a local mans adventures at sea were to inspire the infamous novel "Robinson Crusoe". Then we make an unusual stop in the small village of Piteenween to visit the mysterious caves there - some tales will be told!

Next after stopping for lunch we'll make our way over to the ancient religious capital of St Andrews - a beautifully historic University town - plenty of time here to breath in the fantastic coastal air before starting off once more, this time going inland through Perthshire to witness the remnants of the Pictish tribes before stopping at the quaint town of Crieff - our home for tonight.

Today we will make our way over to the to the West coast traveling alongside Loch Tay stopping, at the GlenTurret Distillery and the Falls of Dochart. As we go further west we'll stop at the rugged Kilchurn Castle situated in Loch Awe with a look around the sensational architecture of St Conans Kirk. We then head to Oban, the Gateway to the Isles, where we'll stop for the night.

This morning we make our way down the Argyle coastline (the ancient kingdom of Dalriada) - visit the mysterious Standing Stones of the Kilmartin Glen and climb to the top of Dunadd Fort to hear of how Scotland, as a nation, was defined.

Then its more beautiful scenery as we make our way down Loch Fyne - taste a fresh oyster! - and through Glen Croy which leads us gently down to the banks of the infamous Loch Lomond. Weather permitting we'll do a nice walk or take a boat trip on this beautiful Loch (you've heard the song "you'll take the high road……"?) Then it's a short hop back to Edinburgh honorary Scots with beautiful memories of ancient Alba (Scotland)!
