Castle Guest House is a quiet, non-smoking townhouse offering top quality bed and breakfast accommodation in the very heart of Edinburgh's city centre.

The guest house is situated in a 200 year old Georgian townhouse in the heart of Edinburgh’s new town, just one minute’s walk from Princes Street, with stunning views of the new town, Princes street, and, from some rooms, Edinburgh Castle.

Owned and run by Tod and Pauline Hetherington, the guest house has recently been completely refurbished to incorporate traditional decor, spacious comfortable rooms and all possible amenities in all nine rooms. The aim is to make the stay for guests in Scotland as comfortable and relaxing as possible with all the modern conveniences together with an 'olde world' atmosphere suiting its location in Central Edinburgh.

The Castle Guest House provides all the comforts and facilities that the discerning traveller visiting Edinburgh for business or leisure would expect. All rooms feature en-suite bathrooms with shower, television, tea and coffee facilities, use of a trouser press, hair dryer and public phone, while some rooms even offer a view of Edinburgh Castle across the street!

It is important to note that the Castle Guest house is situated on the third floor of a Georgian townhouse. This may cause problems for people who have difficulty using stairs.

The Castle Guest House is ideally located for visitors to the city, whether the visit is for business or pleasure. We are only minutes walk from Princes Street, the Royal Mile, the Assembly Rooms and Edinburgh Castle, as well as within easy reach of the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.

Our location also gives guests excellent access to travel links. Nearby Princes Street is the gateway to the airport and the motorway networks in Scotland. Waverley train station and St Andrew's Square bus station are only five minutes walk from the guest house.
